Off in Green and White practice
Wilson struggled in the Jets' first practice at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, throwing two interceptions without a touchdown, Steve Serby of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: While Wilson failed to lead the offense into the end zone and was nearly picked off a third time, backups Mike White and James Morgan combined to throw three touchdowns. Reports about Wilson's play have been positive up to this point, so chalk this effort up to some rookie nerves as the second overall pick finally met Gang Green Nation. Wilson remains the favorite to open the season as New York's starter under center.

Agrees to contract
Wilson has agreed to a four-year deal with the Jets, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The report notes that the QB's contract is projected to be worth $35.1 million and includes a signing bonus of approximately $22.9 million. It was inevitable that the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft would sign on the dotted line, but the two sides needed to compromise on a couple of items. Impressing coaching staff
Wilson has impressed New York's coaching staff with his work ethic and quick learning ability in camp, Jack Bell of the Jets' official site reports. "We've thrown a lot at (WIlson)," offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said. "I thought these last two weeks have been awesome for him...it's cool because he recognizes all that, he learns, and he's eager."
Analysis: Wilson's tremendous arm strength and accuracy led the Jets to select him second overall in the 2021 draft, and early reports from camp suggests he has the mental makeup to get the most out of his physical gifts. With a creative offensive mind in LaFleur guiding him, Wilson should help restore some excitement to a Jets aerial attack that has failed to leave the hangar over the past couple seasons.
