Finds work in Pittsburgh
The Steelers signed Edmunds off the Jaguars' practice squad Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Edmunds failed to make Jacksonville's initial 53-man roster in late August but has since found a home in Pittsburgh, where he spent the first five years of his career. The Virginia Tech product appeared in the Jaguars' Week 1 game, recording no stats while playing just six defensive snaps. He's expected to serve as a depth piece in Pittsburgh's secondary as the season progresses.

Gets opportunity in Jacksonville
The Jaguars signed Edmunds to a contract Thursday.
Analysis: Edmunds began the 2023 campaign as a starter for Philadelphia before being dealt to the Titans in Week 7, where his opportunities grew more inconsistent. Across nine games with the Titans he handled over 50 percent of defensive snaps on just one occasion, but contributed heavily on special teams. Now, Edmunds likely profiles to head into the 2024 season as a depth player for Jacksonville.

Role slips in 2023
Edmunds recorded 48 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, two passes defensed (one interception) and one forced fumble across 16 regular-season games with the Eagles and Titans in 2023.
Analysis: Edmunds began the season in a starting role with the Eagles, but he had an inconsistent role prior to being dealt to Tennessee following Week 7. The same inconsistent opportunity followed him in Tennessee, and the result was that Edmunds tallied career lows in defensive snaps (451) and total tackles. He did contribute plenty on special teams, which should help him find a new contract around the league, but he's likely to be penciled into a depth role to begin the 2024 campaign.

In line to start Week 16
Edmunds is expected to start for the injured Amani Hooker (knee) at strong safety ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
Analysis: Hooker seems to have suffered a knee injury over the past week, giving Edmunds the opportunity to make his second start for the Titans. Over the course of the year, the 26-year-old safety has split time between Philadelphia and Tennessee, recording 41 total tackles, including two tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. Edmunds will likely start alongside Elijah Molden in Week 16, per Kuharsky.

Returns for Week 15
Edmunds is active for Monday's game against the Dolphins, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.
Analysis: Edmunds was a healthy scratch in the Titans' Week 13 overtime loss to the Colts. He'll provide safety depth behind starters Amani Hooker and K'Von Wallace, though he could cede nickel-package snaps to Elijah Molden.

Missing another game
Edmunds (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Analysis: Edmunds was sidelined by a shoulder injury in Week 12 but he returned to practice fully leading up to Sunday's game against the Colts. Since he is, presumably, available from a health perspective, it appears Edmunds has slipped down the defensive depth chart in Tennessee. Mike Brown and Elijah Molden are potentially playing-time beneficiaries.

Returns to practice
Edmunds (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Edmunds returned to practice Wednesday after missing the team's win over the Panthers last week due to a shoulder injury. The 2018 first-round pick will now return to his role as a special teamer and depth defender.

Out with shoulder issue
Edmunds (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Analysis: Edmunds picked up the injury in Tennessee's Week 11 loss. He logged two limited practices leading up to Sunday's game against Carolina, so it doesn't appear as if he's set for a long-term absence. K'Von Wallace could see additional time on the field when the Titans opt to play in nickel or dime.

Flipped to Tennessee in Byard deal
The Titans acquired Edmunds along with 2024 fifth- and sixth-round draft picks Monday in exchange for safety Kevin Byard, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: After spending his first five seasons in Pittsburgh, Edmunds inked a one-year deal with the Eagles in March and lasted seven games with the team before general manager Howie Roseman sought out and found an upgrade. In Tennessee, Edmunds gives the Titans an experienced safety to fill Byard's shoes for the remainder of the season. Through his seven games with Philadelphia this season, Edmunds has recorded 28 tackles and one forced fumble.

Inks deal with Eagles
Edmunds signed a one-year contract with the Eagles on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Edmunds is now in line to replace C.J. Gardner-Johnson -- who signed with the Lions on Sunday, as Philadephia's starting strong safety for at least the 2023 campaign. The 26-year-old served as a starter in Pittsburgh since entering the league in 2018, and he most recently amassed 70 tackles, five passes defensed https://www.thelines.com/odds/nba/#p32cf.NikolaJokic and two sacks across 15 games played this past season.

Remains effective in 2022
Edmunds generated 70 tackles (41 solo), including two sacks, along with five pass defenses over 15 games in 2022.
Analysis: Edmunds missed two games due to injury in 2022, but he logged at least 70 tackles for the fourth time over his first five professional seasons while also posting a career-high mark in sacks. The 25-year-old is slated to become an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Steelers express interest in bringing him back given the impact he's had over his five seasons with the team.

Could sit out Week 16
Edmunds (hamstring) is considered questionable to play Saturday against the Raiders, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Edmunds did not practice during Week 16 prep while dealing with a hamstring injury that he presumably picked up during Sunday's win over the Panthers. However, he appears to still have a decent chance of playing Saturday against Las Vegas, and he should retain a starting role at strong safety when available. Surpasses 50 tackles in 2022
Edmunds recorded nine tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 16-14 defeat to the Steelers.
Analysis: Edmunds came one stop shy of tying his season high set Week 6 versus Tampa Bay. The 25-year-old also played every defensive snap alongside free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for the first time since Week 7, as the Steelers had to focus on slowing down Baltimore's run-heavy attack. Analysis: Edmunds suffered a concussion during Week 4 and was ruled out for Week 5, but he'll make his return in Week 6 after logging three straight full practices. However, he was able to log limited sessions Thursday and Friday, giving him a chance to play Sunday. Analysis: Edmunds exited Pittsburgh's Week 4 loss to the Jets after being diagnosed with a concussion, leaving him sidelined during practice Wednesday as well. The 25-year-old recorded 12 tackles and one pass defended while playing almost every defensive snap over the first three weeks of the season. The Steelers declined Edmunds' fifth-year option Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Team-high eight tackles in win
Edmunds totaled eight tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Colts.
Analysis: The safety now has 54 tackles this season, second only to Devin Bush (66) on the Steelers. Still, Edmunds has no turnovers or sacks, limiting his fantasy value. He could see a lot more action in Week 10 against the Rams and quarterback Jared Goff, who entered Week 9 leading the league in passing yards.
