Opens week as limited participant
Bosa (hip) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Analysis: Bosa returned from a three-game absence this past Sunday against the Saints, though he played just 18 defensive snaps and did not record a tackle. The 2016 first-round pick is still working through a hip injury he picked up in Week 3 against the Steelers, so his limited practice participation to open the week is to be expected. Bosa should be good to go against the Browns on Sunday as long as he's able to practice in at least a limited capacity over the next two days.

Questionable, but expects to play
Bosa (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints but said after Friday's practice that he expects to play, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Though he anticipates playing, Bosa said that he won't be given a full workload, per Kris Rhim of ESPN.com. If that's the case, reserve edge rushers Bud Dupree and Tuli Tuipulotu could pick up more snaps than usual.

Limited in practice Wednesday
Bosa (hip) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.
Analysis: Bosa has missed three consecutive games due to a lingering hip injury, so it's encouraging to see him back on the practice field. He'll work to continue improving and ultimately gain clearance to suit up Sunday versus the Saints, which will likely field rookie fifth-round pick Spencer Rattler under center.

Unlikely to play vs. Arizona
Bosa (hip) is listed as doubtful ahead of Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Doesn't practice Friday
Bosa (hip) was listed as a DNP on Friday's injury report.
Analysis: Bosa has opened the week with back-to-back DNPs due to a hip injury he sustained in Week 3 against the Steelers. The 2016 first-round pick is in jeopardy of being sidelined for a third straight game unless he's able to practice in at least a limited capacity Saturday. If Bosa cannot play Monday against the Cardinals, Tuli Tuipulotu and Bud Dupree will compete for snaps with the first-team defense at outside linebacker opposite starter Khalil Mack.

Opens week as DNP
Bosa (hip) was listed as a DNP on the Chargers' injury report Wednesday.
Analysis: Bosa suffered a hip injury in Week 3, which kept him out of the Chargers' Week 4 loss to the Chiefs. The Chargers are coming out of the bye week, but even with the extended rest, it appears Bosa's hip continues to be an issue. He'll have two more chances to return to practice this week ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos. Tuli Tuipulotu will see more work with the first-team defense if Bosa is sidelined.

Analysis: Bosa has not practiced all week due to a hip injury he sustained in Week 3 against the Steelers. The Chargers have a bye next week, so the earliest Bosa could return to action will be in the lead-up to the Chargers' Week 6 matchup against the Broncos on Oct. 13. Bosa (back) is active Sunday against the Panthers.

Could play Week 2
Bosa (back) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Analysis: The 29-year-old edge rusher was unable to practice both Thursday and Friday due to a back injury, but it appears he still has a shot at suiting up Sunday. Bosa (back) did not practice Thursday.
Analysis: Bosa opened the week as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but it appears his back injury is severe enough for him to miss Thursday's session. Sacks Minshew on Sunday
Bosa tallied seven tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble in Sunday's 22-10 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Bosa sacked Gardner Minshew for a six-yard loss in the second quarter of Sunday's game, which forced the Raiders to punt one play later. Bosa showed his defensive impact in the third quarter, when he punched the ball out of Zamir White's hands, and the fumble was recovered by Ja'Sir Taylor, though the Chargers' offense wasn't able to convert that turnover into points. Off injury report
Bosa (hand) was absent from the Chargers' injury report Wednesday.
Analysis: Bosa was spotted practicing without a club on his surgically repaired left hand Monday, so it's no surprise he's been removed from the injury report two days later. The 29-year-old defensive end has been limited to just 14 appearances over the past two seasons, but with better health in 2024, Bosa could combine with Khalil Mack to form one of the top pass-rushing tandems in the league. Bosa remained productive in his nine games in 2023, logging 20 tackles, 6.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Nearing return?
Bosa (hand) was spotted participating in Monday's practice without a club on his left hand, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bosa broke his left hand during a joint practice with the Rams on Aug. 4, but he appears to be nearing a full return to the field. The 2016 first-round pick has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons, appearing in just 16 regular-season games and recording 30 total tackles, including 9.0 sacks. It's unclear if Bosa will be ready for the Bolts' Week 1 contest against the Raiders, but practicing without a club Monday appears to be a step in the right direction.

Bosa (hand) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bosa has been held out of practice and preseason games since injuring his hand during the Chargers' joint practice with the Rams on Aug. 4. His return Thursday -- albeit in limited fashion -- is a positive step in his recovery as he aims to be ready for Week 1 against the Raiders. Bosa finished 2023 on IR due to a foot injury, and he posted 20 tackles (14 solo), including 6.5 sacks, one pass defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across nine regular-season games.

Bosa (hand/wrist) is not playing in Saturday's preseason bout against the Seahawks, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bosa was seen Saturday with his left hand/wrist wrapped up, an injury that he sustained during Sunday's practice. The four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher may sit out for all three preseason games and focus on being ready for the Chargers' regular-season opener against the Raiders on Sept. 9. Bosa departed early from Sunday's practice due to an apparent left hand/wrist injury, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bosa headed into the locker room with trainers following a play, but at this point the level of concern about the hand/wrist issue is unclear. Analysis: Bosa was able to practice in a limited fashion throughout the week, but he's not ready to return to the field just yet. The Chargers designated Bosa (foot) for return from injured reserve Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Bosa is now up to four sacks on the season and has surpassed his 2022 total of 2.5. Bosa (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Raiders.
Analysis: A downgrade in injury status on a Saturday is always an ominous sign, and with that scenario having played out for Bosa, it's unsurprising he's now officially ruled out for Sunday's AFC West clash. Analysis: Bosa was able to get in some limited practice time Friday after sitting out of Thursday's session. He was limited to 19 snaps in Week 2 against the Titans but should see a larger workload Sunday as the Chargers look for their first win of the season against the Vikings.

In line to play Sunday
Bosa (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings, is on track to be active for the contest, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Bosa's status will be confirmed when the Chargers release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to the game's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. According to Pelissero, the Chargers plan to have Bosa increase his playing time from Week 2, when he was limited to just 18 snaps in a 27-24 overtime loss to the Titans while being eased back from the hamstring issue. Considered questionable
Bosa (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Vikings.
Analysis: Bosa bounced back from a Thursday DNP by practicing in limited fashion Friday. His status Sunday will depend on how his hamstring is holding up closer to kickoff. Tuli Tuipulotu is the likely candidate to replace Bosa on the edge if he is ultimately unable to go.

No practice Thursday
Bosa (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday.
Analysis: It's a downgrade for Bosa after he was limited in Wednesday's session. He didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday last week but still played in the Week 2 loss to the Titans, recording a pair of sacks. Bosa is someone who doesn't need many practice reps in order to play Sunday.

Limited in practice
Bosa (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Bosa played through the hamstring injury last week and managed to record two sacks despite playing on a snap count. While the 2016 first-round pick seems to be trending towards playing Sunday, it remains to be seen if he'll be a full go or if he'll be limited once again.

Records two sacks
Bosa registered four tackles (three solo), including two sacks, in Sunday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Titans.
Analysis: Bosa's status was up in the air all week due to a hamstring injury, but he finished the afternoon with a team-high sack total. Despite the positive production, the 28-year-old played just 19 snaps, as the coaching staff was likely trying to be cautious with his hamstring. Bosa will now look to get back to full health for next week's game against the Vikings.

Ready to play
Bosa (hamstring) is active Sunday against the Titans.

Optimism to play Sunday
The Chargers are optimistic that Bosa (hamstring) will be able to suit up Sunday versus the Titans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Bosa is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's contest due to hamstring soreness, but he appears to be trending in the right direction. Official word on the star pass rusher will arrive when the Chargers release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. If Bosa is able to take the field, he could thrive matched up against a Titans offensive line that allowed three sacks and 10 quarterback hits versus the Saints in Week 1.

Questionable with hamstring injury
Bosa (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Analysis: Bosa upgraded to limited participation Friday after failing to practice Wednesday or Thursday, but his status for Week 2 remains in doubt. If the productive pass rusher is able to play, he could be in store for a strong performance against an underwhelming Tennessee offensive line that allowed three sacks and 10 quarterback hits to the Saints last week.

Absent from scrimmage Sunday
Bosa didn't participate in Sunday's scrimmage due to an illness, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Bosa missed most of the 2022 campaign due to a groin injury but said at the start of training camp this year that he added about 15-to-20 pounds during the offseason, something he hopes will make him a more effective player. While he wasn't on the field Sunday, it seems unlikely that his illness will impact his status for the start of the regular season. However, whether he suits up for Saturday's preseason opener against the Rams remains to be seen.

Adds weight over offseason
Speaking with reporters Thursday, Bosa noted that he added about 15 to 20 pounds in the offseason and believes he'll "be a much more effective player and pass rush with my power," Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bosa dropped down to about 250 pounds in 2021 as he transitioned from a traditional defensive end to an edge rusher who occasionally dropped into coverage under defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. He's now back to around the same weight as he was under former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley and noted that the added weight is "a big part of my game to be able to be powerful and be strong." Season limited by injury
Bosa registered 10 tackles (eight solo), three tackles for loss -- including 2.5 sacks -- and a forced fumble in five games during the 2022-23 regular season.
Analysis: Bosa spent the majority of the season on injured reserve, as he missed 13 straight games after injuring his groin Week 3, an issue he aggravated Week 18. Bosa was still productive in his limited action, especially as a pass rusher. He finished the season with the sixth-most sacks and tied for the fifth-most quarterback hits on the Chargers. Expected to play versus Rams
Chargers coach Brandon Staley said the Chargers plan to activate Bosa (groin) from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams.
Analysis: Bosa landed on IR with a groin tear after the first two games of the regular season and he was finally designated to return to practice Thursday. The Bolts still need to officially restore the 27-year-old defensive to the active roster before he can suit up again, so this move will come at some point Friday or Saturday. The Chargers designated Bosa (groin) for return from injured reserve Thursday.
Analysis: The transaction clears the way for Bosa to practice for the first time since suffering a groin tear in late September and ultimately requiring surgery. Because he hasn't played since Week 3, Bosa won't be a safe bet to get activated from IR in advance of this Sunday's game against the Rams, even if he fares well in his two practices this week. Bosa (groin) isn't practicing Thursday and looks unlikely to return from injured reserve for Sunday's game against the Titans, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Considering the Chargers haven't yet opened Bosa's 21-day evaluation window in practice by designating him for return from IR, he doesn't appear as though he'll be an option for Week 15. The star edge rusher has been sidelined since Week 3 after undergoing surgery to address a groin tear.

The 26-year-old has played 82 percent of the Chargers' defensive snaps through the first two games of the season and has seven total tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. If he is unable to suit up Sunday, expect Kyler Fackrell to see increased snaps against Kansas City.

No practice Wednesday
Bosa didn't practice Wednesday due to a foot/ankle injury, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Bosa played 82 percent of the defensive snaps in each of the first two games, and the injury isn't expected to affect his availability for Week 3. The 26-year-old has seven total tackles, one sack and a forced fumble.

Picks up first sack this season
Bosa compiled four tackles (three solo), a forced fumble and a sack in Sunday's 20-16 win over Washington.
Analysis: Bosa had two roughing the passer calls in Sunday's contest with the former actually extending a drive in which Washington scored points, but the explosive pass rusher otherwise was just as dominant as ever. Injuries limited Bosa to just 12 games last season, but the 26-year-old has been reportedly healthy throughout all of training camp leading up to 2021.

Present at minicamp
Bosa (concussion) participated in the Chargers' two-day minicamp in June, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The 2016 first-round pick signed a five-year, $135 million contract last July and finished with 39 tackles, 7.5 sacks and a fumble recovery over 12 games last season. A concussion ended his season prematurely, but the 25-year-old defensive end will be ready to rock for preseason and training camp. Through five NFL seasons, Bosa has accumulated 47.5 sacks over 63 games.

Looks unlikely for Week 17
Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said there's a "good chance" Bosa (concussion) won't be available Sunday against the Chiefs, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Bosa appears set to close out the 2020 campaign with consecutive absences due to his second concussion of the season. The 6-9 Chargers are eliminated from the playoffs, giving the team little incentive to rush the star defensive end back on the field. Isaac Rochell would likely draw a start if Bosa is in fact sidelined Week 17.

Ruled out Week 16
Bosa (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Analysis: The 25-year-old sustained the concussion during the Week 15 win over the Raiders and will be sidelined for at least one game. The Chargers have indicated they don't intend to shut Bosa down for the season, but the team is likely to remain cautious heading into the final week of the regular season. Isaac Rochell is poised for increased work at defensive end for Los Angeles.

Concussion confirmed
Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn confirmed Tuesday that Bosa is in the NFL's concussion protocol, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Popper notes that the Chargers don't intend to shut Bosa down for the season, but given that the star defensive end is dealing with his second concussion in eight weeks, the team may be hesitant to rush him back. Regardless, he'll need to return to practice and gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to play Week 16 against the Broncos and/or Week 17 against the Chiefs.

Bosa has exited Thursday's game against the Raiders and is being evaluated for a concussion.
Analysis: Bosa was clearly playing through injuries Thursday, and he had four tackles (two solo) to begin overtime. If he's indeed placed in the concussion protocol, the star defensive end won't be eligible to retake the field. Earlier this season Bosa missed two games due to a concussion suffered Week 8.

Good to go after limited practice
Bosa (shin) doesn't carry an injury designation into Thursday's game against the Raiders.
Analysis: Bosa practiced on a limited basis both Tuesday and Wednesday, showing enough to avoid an injury designation for Thursday's game. This shin injury limited the pass rusher's practice reps earlier this month, but he has still suited up for games and will do so again here as he looks to build on his season total of 7.5 sacks.

Upgrades in practice
Bosa (shin) was a limited participant during the Chargers' practice session Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bosa racked up nine tackles, three sacks, one pass deflection and a fumble recovery while fielding 85 percent of the defensive snaps last Sunday in a loss to the Bills. The two-time Pro Bowler was not declared to have inherited an injury postgame, so a DNP on Wednesday raised eyebrows. Misses practice Wednesday
Bosa didn't suit up in Wednesday's practice due to a shin injury.
Analysis: Both Bosa and Uchenna Nwosu (shoulder) resided on Wednesday's practice report, so the team is starting the week thin at defensive end. Bosa is coming off an eight-tackle, three-sack performance in last week's win over the Bills, so the team could be trying to manage his practice reps during the week. Bosa's participation level at practice during the rest of the week will be a better indicator of his chances to play Sunday against the Patriots.

Monster performance against Bills
Bosa recorded eight tackles, three sacks, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Bosa has put up two sacks in nine different games since entering the league in 2016, and he finally recorded a trio of sacks for the first time in his career. This was a magnificent outing for Bosa, as he also tied his career high in tackles. He'll look to keep it rolling against Cam Newton and the Patriots in Week 12.

Cleared from concussion protocol
Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn confirmed after Wednesday's practice that Bosa has cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bosa was a full participant in the Chargers' first Week 11 practice, and the confirmation from his coach that he's no longer in the concussion protocol clears the way for the starting defensive end to return from a two-game absence Sunday against the Jets. Through seven outings this season, Bosa has accrued 18 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Still in concussion protocol
Coach Anthony Lynn said Wednesday that Bosa (concussion) is still in concussion protocol, though Lynn added that the team might have more info about Bosa's status by the end of the day, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Bosa hasn't played since sustaining a concussion in Week 8, but he was able to practice on a limited basis last week, suggesting that he's trending in the right direction. If the standout pass rusher is cleared in time to face the Jets on Sunday, he'll have a terrific opportunity to add to his season total of 4.5 sacks against one of the league's least impressive offensive lines.

Bosa (concussion) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Bosa (concussion) participated in individual drills during Wednesday's practice, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Coach Anthony Lynn said that Bosa remains in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. That said, Bosa's return to practice even in a limited capacity is an encouraging sign for his chances of playing Sunday against the Dolphins. Bosa (ankle/triceps/knee) was absent from Wednesday's injury report.
Analysis: The fact that the Ohio State product appears to be fully healthy is extremely positive news for the team coming out of its bye week. Bosa continued to play through several issues prior to the bye; however, he only played in 37 percent of defensive snaps last time out in Week 5. Ankle still bothersome
Bosa, who suited up in Monday's 30-27 overtime loss to the Saints, said his ankle is bothering him the most among his array of injuries, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Bosa added that he likely wouldn't have been ready to play Week 5 if the game had been Sunday rather than Monday. The defensive end recorded a sack in the loss to New Orleans but was limited to playing just 37 percent of the defensive snaps. He should benefit from the schedule change that has the Chargers on bye in Week 6, but his practice participation will be worth monitoring next week ahead of an Oct. 25 matchup with the Jaguars.

Manages to play, records sack
Bosa (ankle/knee/triceps) recorded one sack, two quarterback hits and a tackle in Monday's 30-27 overtime loss to the Saints.
Analysis: It was clear Bosa was limited by a long list of injuries as the Chargers opted to just use the pass rusher sparingly. The end result saw the fearsome pass rusher record just 37 percent of the team's defensive snaps, but he still managed to bother quarterback Drew Brees just about every time he dropped back to pass. The bye week probably couldn't have come at a better time for Bosa, who will look to recover from his laundry list of injuries in time for the Week 7 matchup against the Jaguars.

Analysis: The 25-year-old was originally considered questionable with triceps and knee issues, but he also picked up an ankle injury. Questionable for MNF
Bosa (triceps/knee) is considered questionable for Monday's game versus the Saints, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bosa has been a fixture on the injury report this season but has avoided missing time, although this was the first time this season he failed to practice fully during the week. The superstar defensive end is likely trending in the right direction still, but fantasy managers may want to start a replacement with the Chargers playing the second to last game of the week.

Bosa just played a season-high 98 percent of the defensive workload Sunday in a loss to the Panthers, but his ankle issue is a development that has popped up on the injury report this week. Three straight weeks with sack
Bosa picked up two tackles and a sack in the 21-16 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: It was another poor outing for Bosa, as he jumped offside or drew a neutral zone infraction on at least three plays throughout the course of the game. Luckily those gaffes don't count against IDP users, but it's been a bit surprising to see Bosa struggle so much with opposing hard counts. Sack masks poor outing
Bosa posted four tackles (two solo), one sack, one tackle for a loss and two quarterback hits in the overtime loss Sunday to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Bosa's game probably looks better on the box score than it does in real life as the fearsome pass rusher was victimized by hard counts from Patrick Mahomes on multiple occasions that either extended a play or outright gave the Chiefs a first down. It's hard to fault Bosa given the matchup, and it seems likely he could have an opportunity to make similar plays next week against the Panthers' porous offensive line.

Bosa (triceps) didn't suit up in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: It's unclear how Bosa suffered the injury, however, it could be an opportunity to give the Ohio State product some rest during the week. Bosa tallied five tackles, one sack, two tackles for a loss and three quarterback hits in Sunday's win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Bosa wreaked havoc on rookie quarterback Joe Burrow throughout the game. He got to him for a sack early in the second quarter, taking Burrow down for a three-yard loss. Even when he didn't get home for a sack, he was regularly in the backfield causing pressure and incompletions. Bosa picked up four tackles and a sack in the 24-17 loss Sunday to the Raiders.
Analysis: In an almost eerily similar fashion, Bosa is on pace to tie or surpass his 2017 figures in tackles (70) and sacks (12.5), thanks in large part to playing a full 16-game season for just the second time this season. In Bosa and Melvin Ingram, the Chargers still boast one of the most destructive pass-rushing duos in the NFL, although it remains to be seen if they'll wreak havoc on the Chiefs in a meaningless Week 17 contest.

Analysis: Sunday's outing was the first time since Nov. 3 that Bosa picked up a sack, although the 24-year-old is still on pace to set career highs as a pass rusher. Unable to do much
Bosa picked up a meager two tackles (one solo) in the 26-24 loss Thursday to the Raiders.
Analysis: This certainly wasn't the type of game Bosa fantasy owners were hoping for, as the fearsome pass rusher played second fiddle to teammate Melvin Ingram during the few opportunities in which Raiders quarterback Derek Carr held the ball too long. While Ingram registered two sacks, Bosa was still disruptive, at one point shedding two blockers to make an excellent tackle behind the line of scrimmage on a critical second-half run, but he didn't do enough to make a meaningful impact in the box score.
